Disclaimer for Services
This disclaimer relates to naturopathic, sound healing and yoga consultations and treatments with me.

• As a naturopath, I provide individual consultations which include inquiring about your presenting complaints, current
  state of embodiment, examinations such as iridology diagnosis, tongue and nail diagnosis, and treatment plans. Your
  individual treatment plans may include natural remedies such as liquid herbs, herbal teas, nutraceuticals, flower
  essences or herbal creams as well as dietary advice and lifestyle recommendations.
• As a sound healer, I provide individual consultations which include pre-treatment inquiry about your current state of
  embodiment, treatment, and aftercare advice. Sound healing treatments include a variety of sound healing
  instruments such as singing bowls, chimes, tuning forks, gong, rattles, frame drum and my voice. Aftercare advice
  includes lifestyle recommendations. Group sound healing events may include sound bath sessions, workshops, mini-
  retreats, and training.
• As a yoga teacher, I provide individual consultations which include inquiring about your current state of embodiment,
  physical posture assessment and treatment plans. Treatment plans may include yoga postures and techniques,
  breathing and meditation recommendations. Group yoga classes may include in-person classes, workshops, and
  mini-retreats.
• As a naturopath, sound healer and yoga teacher, during a consultation I may provide you with a combination of one,
  two or all three modalities to suit your individual needs and requirements.
  My intention in offering these services is to support you while creating the right environment for the body, mind, and soul to
  come back into harmony and balance.

My Responsibility

I am a degree-qualified naturopath from the Endeavour College of Natural Health, certified sound healer from the Australian
Sound Healers Association and a certified yoga teacher with over 800 hours of registered teacher training though My Health
Yoga, In Touch Yoga Byron Bay and Prana Vinyasa Yoga.
As a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA) and Yoga Australia, I am required to complete at least a
minimum number of continuing professional development (CPD) hours annually to ensure my skills remain current and up to
date. In addition, I undertake research to stay abreast of latest developments in naturopathy, sound healing and yoga, while
making all reasonable efforts and commitment to ensure that my services meet with the highest standards of best practice. If
your health needs fall outside my scope of practice at any time, I will provide you with a referral for a suitable health care
practitioner.
I am not a medical practitioner and I do not provide diagnosis or treatment of medical conditions or diseases, but I may help
manage these. My services are not intended to replace or substitute the expertise of a licenced physician. If you require urgent
medical attention, please go to the nearest hospital.

Your Responsibility

Prior to your first naturopathic consultation with me, you are required to complete and submit the New Client Registration form.
For sound healing and yoga, the relevant Client Information and Release form requires completion. This gives me your consent
to proceed, and outlines any health concerns I need to be aware of before we begin. You may either submit the form via email
or bring it with you to the appointment/class. Registration forms are also available at the clinic or class location for your
convenience. Please arrange to arrive a few minutes prior to your appointment to fill in the form before the consultation/class
begins.
During our consultation, we will discuss any relevant information about your presenting complaint(s) and current state of
embodiment, conduct any tests which may include iridology, tongue and nail diagnosis, and together create a treatment plan
that is suitable for you. The treatment plan will proceed only with your consent, where you fully understand what the plan
involves, and any risks associated with it. You have the right at any time to refuse any proposed treatment plan, either in part or
in its entirety.
For your safety, it is important to let me know of any medications, herbs and/or supplements that you may be taking to minimise
the risks of herb/drug interactions. This applies to any products you are taking, whether they are prescribed through other
health professionals or not.

Therapeutic and Adverse Reactions

Therapeutic reactions are considered beneficial and may occur as a result of your body working to come back into balance in
response to the treatment. Adverse reactions are undesired effects of the treatment and must be reported to me as soon as
possible. In the case of an emergency, please go to the nearest hospital.
I take great care to ensure the safety of any herbal, nutraceutical, or other therapeutic products I prescribe to you. If you do
experience an adverse reaction to your treatment or are unsure if it is a therapeutic or adverse reaction, please contact me
either by email ar.medicinewoman3@gmail.com or phone 0422 666 294 as soon as possible.

Health Disclaimer

Yoga and Physical Activity
A physical yoga practice may be a strenuous physical activity. It is advisable to seek the advice of your doctor or other health
professional prior to commencing any physical activity program. Please let me know your current embodiment and health
concerns prior to your consultation/class, as I take great care to ensure the safety and suitability of the individual consultation or
group yoga class. However, I am not responsible for how you choose to implement any suggestions and guidance from me
relating to the movements, use of equipment, and instruction. You acknowledge and agree that by participating in a yoga class
or individual consultation, you do so at your own risk and you agree to disclose any health concerns that may affect your ability
to participate in this service. Please complete the Yoga Client Information and Release form prior to your initial class.

Sound Healing

Sound healing may not be suitable in certain circumstances. You acknowledge and agree that by participating in a sound
healing session, you do so at your own risk and you agree to disclose any health concerns that may affect your ability to
participate in this service. Please read the risks and contraindications information carefully and complete the Sound Healing
Information and Release form prior to your initial sound healing session.

Waiver of Liability

While I strive to ensure that my services adhere to the highest standards of best practice, you acknowledge and agree that, to
the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be held liable for any damages, including but not limited to direct,
indirect, special, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, as well as damages to reputation or goodwill, loss of data,
profits, or other intangible losses, or the cost of procurement of substitute goods or services, arising from or related to the use,
performance, or inability to use my website, any services or products obtained through it, or any content posted on it. This
limitation of liability applies regardless of whether such damages were caused under contract, tort (including negligence),
warranty, or any other theory of liability.

Payment Terms

A booking fee of $50 is required to be paid at the time of booking your appointment, either in-person, online or over the phone. I
accept payment by cash, bank transfer or card transaction via Square in clinic and online. The booking fee will be deducted
from the cost of your consultation. The remaining balance and any prescribed products you may take with you, including herbal
preparations and nutraceuticals, must be made at the time of your appointment. Any products to be purchased through Vital.ly
are paid directly through your client account with Vital.ly.
Health fund rebates are currently not available for naturopathy, sound healing or yoga consultations in Australia.
The price of consultations may change at any time without notice. Promotional consultation prices are only available during
specified periods.

Security Policy

Card payments are made through third parties. Please find more information about the security of card transactions via Square
here and Vital.ly here.

Delivery

I may see you for naturopathy, sound healing or yoga consultations in-person at Suite 2, 2 Elliott Street, Surfers Paradise,
Queensland, 4217.
Online consultations via Zoom are available for naturopathy only. A zoom link will be emailed to you prior to the appointment.
From time to time, specific courses and workshops may also be delivered via zoom. Please see Zoom’s Terms of Service
regarding their usage.

Cancellation Policy

There is a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or change your appointment for any reason, please provide as
much notice as possible. This gives another client the opportunity to book that appointment time. If the appointment is changed
with more than 24 hours’ notice, the booking fee will be transferred to the new appointment time, and any appointment
cancelled with more than 24 hours’ notice will have the $50 booking fee refunded.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or miss your appointment, your $50 booking fee will not be refunded.

Refunds and Returns

Please choose your products, packages, and services carefully, as I do not offer a refund if you change your mind. This
includes any consultations, herbal preparations, or nutraceuticals I supply to you. Your herbal preparation is specially blended
to suit your specific health requirements. If the consultation did not meet your expectations, please contact me for further
discussion.
For any nutraceuticals purchased directly from me that are faulty or damaged, I am obligated to offer a refund or replace the
product as per Australian Consumer Law.
If I prescribe a product for you on Vital.ly that is out of stock or no longer available, please contact me to prescribe a substitute
product. For any products received from Vital.ly that are faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please refer to their Terms and
Conditions regarding returns and refunds.

Respectful Communication

I reserve the right to delete any comments on my website or social media accounts which is rude, offensive or which I deem to
be unacceptable.

Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution

Jurisdiction
Alice Reid Medicine Woman is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland. These terms and conditions are subject to the
governing law of Queensland.

Negotiation

If any issues arise for you from your use of our services, this website or related social media accounts, you agree to make a
genuine effort to resolve the issue through respectful discussion with Alice Reid Medicine Woman.

If either of us has any issue or complaint arising out of your use of this website, my provision of services or products, or these
terms and conditions, we both agree to communicate through respectful negotiation and discussion to resolve any dispute with
the intention of striving for a mutually beneficial outcome.

Mediation

If we are unable to resolve a dispute by negotiation and discussion within 14 days, we agree to proceed to mediation with an
independent accredited mediator. We agree to share the mediation costs equally between us. You may access the complaints
process offered by the Australian Natural Therapists Association here or other professional mediator. You may find an
alternative professional mediator via the Resolution Institute website here. The mediation process is governed by the
Resolution Institute Mediation Rules.

Litigation

When the dispute is not resolved by mediation, either of us may initiate litigation. Litigation should be viewed as a final
recourse, only pursued once negotiation and mediation options have been thoroughly explored and deemed ineffective by an
independent mediator.

Our Agreement

These terms and conditions, together with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimers, constitute the entire agreement between you and
Alice Reid Medicine Woman in relation to your use of this website, and supersede all previous agreements in respect of your use of this website.
